What is the use of disk defragmentation
After using your computer for a while, you may find that it is not as fast as it was before. There are various reasons for slow computer speed, and too much disk defragmentation is also one of the important reasons. So what is the use of disk defragmentation?Let's find out next.

How to defragment a disk

The computer hard disk is divided into multiple clusters, the cluster is divided into sectors, the size of the file is different, the system will search for the most appropriate size in the storage, the time between the file and the file will form some fragments, larger files may also be scattered storage.
After fragmentation, the disk head takes more time to find the file when reading it, thus slowing down the operation and damaging the hard disk, so you should perform a defragmentation after a while.
Disk Cleaner is a junk file removal tool that automatically finds various useless files throughout the disk.It is extremely easy to solve disk space problems with Disk Defragmenter, but even when there is a large amount of space left on the disk, we should always run Disk Defragmenter to remove those useless files so that we can keep the system clean and greatly improve the system performance.

How long does it take to defragment a disk

To perform a disk defragmentation operation, we first have to enter Explorer, first look at the defragmentation under Win7, the same as checking the disk, right-click on the partition, select Properties, and enter the Tools tab, where the second item is defragmentation.
Select Defragmentation, click Start Defragmentation to enter the Disk Defragmentation program in Win7, which is relatively foolproof, after customizing the scheduled tasks and selecting the appropriate partition, you can directly click Defragment Now and wait for a while.
In WindowsXP, you can use the analysis function to analyze a partition after opening the defragmentation program, and determine from the analysis result whether the partition needs immediate disk defragmentation operation, the red area indicates the area with more fragmented files, the blue area represents the area with continuous files, and the green area is unique to the system partition with unmovable system files.
Since there are more red areas, the system determines that this partition needs a tidy-up operation. After hours-long defragmentation, you will see that a large red area has turned into a blue area, which indicates that these files have been stored in sequential order, at which point you can click View Report to get all the current file fragmentation on this partition.
